VAARADHI
A platform for facilitating the development initiatives

VAARADHI is a voluntary initiative of likeminded people. The organization, as the name stands, has been set up with a view to providing a platform for facilitating activities undertaken by non-governmental organization (NGO)s in various field. It seeks also to empower today's youth by enhancing awareness of contemporary social and political issues; and increasing appreciation of their history and roots.

The need is being increasingly felt for the existence of neutral platforms which encourage and promote informed debate. Many such fora are becoming agenda driven and partisan in nature. Vaaradhi hopes to provide a non-partisan space for individuals and organizations to pool and share views and experiences. While having no agenda of its own, it also intends to encourage honest intermediation as an instrument of combating the adverse impact of the spread of divisive and intolerant persuasions.

The organization has now been in existence for three years. It has mainly engaged in the conduct of competitions for young people and fostering people-to-people cultural exchange programmes




1 . Conducting yearly competitions in debates, elocution, essay writing, poster creation etc., for higher secondary students. In the previous years regional events were held in centres across the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Finalists thereat were invited to a state level competition at Hyderabad.

Prizes were awarded to the winners in different categories.

2 . Organizing exposure visits by the winner to other parts of the country, hosted, at the other end, by local NGO.

Vaaradhi has been working on sensitizing youth to the socio-economic imperatives of the environment around. The topics chosen for the competitions focused on topical and contemporary issues.
